Die Shop Labourer

We need a Die Shop Labourer to start immediately at our Brampton Plant, near Steeles and Finch across the road from Wet N Wild Toronto.

**Job Description**:
**_Must be able to work 12 hours continental shifts, 7 shifts every 2 weeks_**

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

Responsible for maintenance of all extrusion dies to achieve maximum productivity

Prepares dies according to press schedules

Polish dies after die correction is completed

**EXPERIENCE REQUIRED**

Knowledge of extrusion process

Previous experience of die polishing and or correction

Ability and willingness to work with caustic

**REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Able to work 12 hour shifts
- Personable with clear communication skills
- Able to work well with others in a team environment
- Good attitude required
- Good knowledge and record of safety, quality and productivity around the aluminum extrusion press
- Run the dies through the caustic solution to clean excess aluminum out of the die.
- Blast the die to clean any additional excess material from the die.
- Assemble and break down tooling assemblies.
- Make sure the dies are clean and there are no remaining aluminum remnants left.
- Die storage
- putting the dies away and retrieval
- taking the dies out of storage.
- Clean and maintain the caustic areas.
- Assist with general housekeeping in the Die Correction Department.
- Comply with Company and Health & Safety polices and procedures.
- Ensure a safe and clean work environment.
- Train die chasers and technic.
- Wear safety equipment and follow safety protocol.
- Work in a productive manner while following work instructions.
- Pulling die tooling from storage area and setting the die up for the press production schedule correctly.
- Break die down at press and putting the correct area for caustic or to be stored away aluminum filled after use.
- Run caustic system. Make new tank of caustic and process-spent tank of caustic to holding tank.
- Put aluminum fill dies in caustic and removing dies after the caustic has removed aluminum from dies.
- Processing dies by putting the die tooling back in the correct location after it been inspected and went through the die shop.
- Work with die corrector and press personnel to provide feedback to the die shop to provide a better die for the press on the next time in the press.
- Request supplies and other items that damaged or running low by informing the die shop supervisor or die shop manager.
- Establish and drive culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.
- Responsible for servicing the extrusion presses by setting up dies according to production schedule.
- Bring back dies after the production in to the die ware house.
- Operating hand tool including Hammer and chisel.
- Clean work area end of shift.

Knowledge of production operation and experience in manufacturing environment.
