The BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) is responsible for the wholesale distribution of liquor and cannabis and operates the retail brands BCLIQUOR (BCL) and BC Cannabis Stores (BCCS). The Operations division of the LDB is accountable for the leadership and strategic direction of the provincial beverage alcohol and cannabis supply and distribution of product through a resilient and responsive supply chain. The LDB also operates retail stores through the brands of BCL and BCCS, driving profitability through marketing, merchandising and store operations.
The Assistant Deputy Minister (ADM) & Chief Operating Officer (COO) leads three main business areas: liquor retail, liquor wholesale, and cannabis (both retail and wholesale). Each division has its own leadership and strategic goals aimed at profitability and operational success. The ADM & COO oversees these divisions, directing key programs and operations functions.
The ADM & COO provides overall vision and leadership for LDB’s revenue-generating sectors. The ADM & COO focuses on operational priorities, and development and improvement of programs to increase revenue and profitability. The ADM & COO provides progress updates, manages the annual budget, and leads divisions to meet business goals. This role also ensures that LDB’s operations are change-ready, exploring service delivery methods and business continuity plans.
