Our Strength is People. is a true expression of our belief that our people are our competitive advantage. **Maintenance Planner** **Picling & Cold Rolling Business Unit** **Background**: The Pickling & Cold Rolling Manufacturing Business Unit is responsible for taking flat rolled Hot Band Steel, removing the mill scale (Pickling), and rolling it down to final thickness (Cold Rolling). As a Maintenance Planner in Pickling & Cold Rolling, your primary function will be to plan, develop, and assemble comprehensive work packages to execute the planning element of the Equipment Reliability Process. **Accountabilities**: Your duties will include (but not limited to) the following: - Manage the backlog of work requests in preapproved status approved through WES Work Management- - Manage the backlog of work orders in PLAN status.- - Detail the scope to the required level of task detail (using single and multi-task work orders as appropriate) for multi-discipline work scopes.- - Estimate resources including labour, materials, equipment, and services.- - Request and receive the appropriate level of technical input to fully plan the work by initiating and scheduling on-site work scopes with appropriate resources required i.e. internal and external trades.- - Develop detailed work instructions as required to support all Health & Safety requirements and where added job specific detail is required.- - Assemble work packages to the level of detail required to execute the work.- - Facilitates and documents analysis of job hazards. Facilitate safe work permit meetings, acquires required permits to complete scope of work, and acquires required drawings and technical information as part of work packages.- - Maintain Bill of Materials.- - Identify and communicate requirements for additions/modifications to Master Parts Catalogue.- - Initiate requisitions for parts and service and responds to technical inquiries from suppliers.- - Maintain the equipment hierarchy including asset characterizing information such as model, serial number, equipment type, etc.- - Provide input into Equipment Maintenance Program development.- - Identify the need for and spins off work requests to other performing departments as required.- - Develop and maintain a library of ‘standard’ or ‘Bench’ work orders capturing accurate information and best execution practices for repetitive work.- - Participate in scheduling meetings. This includes weekly backlog meetings, WES Work Management/Work Development meetings, Shutdown (schedule freeze, lockdown and post).**Desired Skills & Experiences** - Ontario/Interprovincial Certification of Qualification **or** **College Diploma at the Engineering Techician/Technologist Level is required. - Relevant planning experience is preferred and considered an asset - Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Words, Project, Access) - Demonstrates strong decision-making, analytical, detail oriented and problem-solving skills - Able to competently handle a fast-paced environment, with strong organizational, multi-tasking yet detail oriented and time-management skills - Demonstrates strong interpersonal communications skills, written and verbal - Work collaboratively in a team environment; Able to work effectively with people in a variety of roles. - Knowledge of workforce, maintenance or construction planning and scheduling techniques including logistics, coordination, and problem solving is an asset - Experience with Project Management methods including logic work breakdown schedule, Gantt diagramming techniques, identifying task relationships, determining critical path, employing estimating techniques, and analyzing resource utilization is an asset. **Work Environment** - Combination of Office, Shop and Plant environment. - Respirators occasionally required **H
