We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Patient Care Manager to join our Critical Care and Emergency Services Programs. In this position you will have the opportunity to use your extensive knowledge and expertise to help develop, implement, and maintain an innovative and strategic approach to these programs that will meet the current and future needs of Lakeridge Health. This position will play a key role in providing high quality support to Lakeridge Health client groups to achieve our vision and the objectives of Lakeridge Health's strategic direction.
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Reporting to the Director, Emergency and Critical Care Program, the Patient Care Manager (PCM) is responsible for the leadership and management of the Critical Care Unit and Emergency Services at the Bowmanville site in addition to Emergency Services at the Port Perry Hospital; ensuring patient care services are delivered with high quality, safety, and consistency daily. While working collaboratively with all members of the health care team, the PCM will use effective planning, budgeting, and problem-solving skills to ensure: the development of critical care unit and emergency services processes; they will provide leadership and manage staff and to support business goals including operational efficiencies and optimize staffing and interdisciplinary team functioning. The PCM will facilitate and support the implementation of evidence-based practice that is culturally competent to achieve excellence in high quality delivery of patient and family centered care across the Programs
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Bachelor degree in a Regulated Health Discipline;
- Master's degree (preferred);
- Management experience, preferably in a multi-site hospital environment; advanced clinical preparation, coupled with considerable clinical experience in Critical Care programs and Emergency Services;
- Demonstrated understanding of hospital funding models and CCSO standards and metric accountabilities;
- Proven track record of equity-promoting environment that improve the organization and inspire confidence and commitment;
- Demonstrated ability to lead effectively and create a high performance culture through change management strategies that facilitates growth and development, and ingrain inclusion, diversity, equity and anti-racism into all activities;
- Demonstrated knowledge of hospital functions and current trends in health care;
- Proven knowledge of and ability to work with Collective Agreements and Labour Relations;
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation, standards and related best practice guidelines;
- Engaged in systems to measure and track progress including: inclusion, diversity, equity and anti-Racism metrics aligned with patient safety and overall team wellness
- Experienced in decision-making processes and policies that promote equity in hiring practices and advancement for equity-deserving groups
- Proven ability to problem-solve and critically analyze issues while taking an equity lens;
- Creating a culture of safety through in your communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills;
- Must have a satisfactory performance record;
- Demonstrated pattern of good attendance and the ability to maintain that same standard;
- Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork and Joy; and
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff, patient and environmental safety and participation in regular in-services in this area;
