**About the Support Services Department**

The Support Services department at Mount Sinai Hospital plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient environment for patients and staff. Comprising over 400 dedicated professionals, including housekeepers and porters, the team excels in upholding high standards of cleanliness, managing waste and recycling, and handling mail and linen distribution. Our commitment to excellence is evidenced by robust training programs and continual professional development, enhancing the quality of care and service within the hospital community.

**In this role you will**:

- Perform a variety of cleaning duties including dusting, sweeping, mopping, and buffing floors
- Manage garbage collection and maintain cleanliness of washrooms
- Monitor and restock inventory in public areas and clinics
- Operate housekeeping equipment and handle various assigned tasks as required
- Assist with additional duties related to the position as needed
- Job Requirements**Job Requirements**:
Mandatory
- Successful completion of high school diploma Ability to meet the physical demands of the position in order to perform the essential duties of the job which requires standing, bending and lifting for extended periods of timePreferred
- Experience with and proven ability to operate an automatic scrubbing machine, wash walls, buff and burnish floors with appropriate equipment, strip and wax floors using necessary equipment and chemicals

Skills and Knowledge
- Must be able to adapt to a fast paced, constantly changing environment
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and read using English, to effectively perform essential requirements of this position
- Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history
