**The Role**
You as the team leader are an integral part of ensuring the successful performance of service at our Seymour location. You will work closely with the kitchen manager by supervising the kitchen team and meeting the goals set by management and the owner. In addition to working in service, your responsibilities include conducting employee training, ensure service standards are being met, uphold the health and safety protocols, monitoring inventory levels and building good morale amongst the team. This role calls for an individual who is positive, action oriented, self-starter and capable of problem solving who relishes in the art of customer service.
**Specific Responsibilities**:
- Supervises the Kitchen team
- Is responsible for managing the BOH team when the KM is not onsite.
- Completing daily inventory/stock checks
- Completing daily food safety/health safety checks
- Develop training sessions alongside the KM
- Develop menu items alongside the KM
**UPHOLDING EXCELLENCE IN FOOD AND BEVERAGE STANDARDS**
- Ensures food and beverage ingredient and menu item quality are to the highest standard.
- Follows recipes and techniques for food preparation and presentation to ensure consistency and to minimize food costs.
- Manages production of prepped items in order to minimize waste while ensuring highest standards of food quality.
**KITCHEN MANAGEMENT**
- Handling internal and/or external conflict respectfully, professionally and without biases.
- Ensures food safety and health safety protocols are being adhered to by all staff
- Ensures policies and procedures are being adhered to by all staff
- Communicating directly to the KM on any issues
**RESTAURANT HEALTH & SAFETY**
- Exemplifies and upholds Company Policies and Procedures, WCB Health and Safety regulations and BC Employment Standards at all times. This includes upholding and enforcing Nero’s policy of zero-tolerance for bullying and harassment between any employees and those who work with Nero. Maintains employee confidentiality at all times.
- Leads by example by ensuring a safe working environment on the part of all employees in areas of responsibility.

**Requirements**:
- Excellent communication
- Espresso based knowledge is an asset
- 1 year in a supervisor position or relevant
- SIR certificate
- Food safe level 1 is an asset
- Weekend availability
