**Civil Works Division - Lead Hand**

**Job Summary**

This position is responsible for leading a team in completing various projects throughout the lower mainland.

**Compensation**:
Wage to be negotiated with experience, plus bonuses, insurance benefits, use of company vehicle and cell phone.

**Responsibilities**
- Provide field level supervision, training and hands on leadership for crews
- Capable of operating under numerous and varied job site situations
- Self-motivated and able to motivate crew members
- Plan and coordinate work projects making sure they are to be completed in time.
- Must have valid drivers license
- Communicate with crew, plan equipment and materials needed for jobsites
- Manage a crew efficiently, delegate tasks and monitor productivity
- Carry out proper safety procedures and documentation
- Make sure all equipment and tools are in good working order and maintained as necessary.
- Recordkeeping of employee hours, equipment hours, task coding, and production values
- Communicate with general contractors, site inspectors, architects, and engineers

**Job Specifications & Experience.**
- 5+ years experience in commercial landscape & civil works.
- Full time position, winter hours as conditions allow
- Basic survey/layout skills required
- Ability to build from construction drawings
- Must have valid drivers license
- Physically able to lift heavy items, shovel, rake, and carry equipment.
- Must have a strong understanding of Asphalt placing, Drainage placement & repairs, reading specs & plan papers as well as confidence in equipment use.

**Salary**: $35.00-$40.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Lower Mainland, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- construction: 3 years (preferred)
