**Pearson College UWC is recruiting for a Director of Climate Action Leadership Diploma.**

**Reporting to**: Head of College

**Position Summary**:
This role will support students and faculty by teaching and providing pedagogical leadership in the program implementation and evaluation. In addition, the Director of the Climate Action Leadership Program will work closely with the Education Leadership Team, Director of Admissions, and the Advancement and External Relations team to communicate the goals and outcomes of the program to broaden its impact and reach both internally and externally.

**Responsibilities**:

- Strategic leadership of the program’s ongoing development and growth
- Pedagogical leadership in the program implementation and evaluation
- Ensuring coherence and continuity between the program elements
- Leading the team in the use and development of the competency-based assessment framework and the effective communication of learning achievements
- Convening and facilitating on-going program review/improvement meetings
- Coordination of the IB Career-Related Program to ensure continuity of delivery and that students meet the requirements of the Careers-Related Studies (CRS), the IBCP Core and their DP courses
- Continuing to embed Indigenous knowledge systems and perspectives within the CALD program development and delivery, with a focus on nurturing and expanding collaborative relationships with Elders and Indigenous community members to support reconciliation and cultural understanding
- Integration of the CALD students in the wider Pearson experience, promoting CALD activities and opportunities that benefit the whole school
- Support for CALD student recruitment and cohort building, IB course selection, and post-secondary entry in collaboration with the Director of Admissions, Deputy Head - Academics, Counsellor(s), etc.
- Development and oversight of the CALD program budget
- Contribution to program communication and outreach in collaboration with the Advancement and External Relations team
- Exercising leadership in scaling and sharing the impact of the CALD beyond the UWC and IB communities through initiatives and outreach, including but not limited to the CALD Competency Framework
- Stewarding and cultivating community, regional, and global partnerships, including collaborative relationships with post-secondary institutions, the UWC movement, the IB, and other mission-aligned organizations

**Qualifications**:

- Experience leading a collaborative team in solving a complex creative challenge in an education or climate-related context
- Experience leading a project with multiple timelines to completion in a multi-stakeholder environment
- Experience with program design, delivery, and evaluation at an educational institution
- Experience teaching within the IB curriculum or a comparative externally examined advanced level course of study for high school students.
- International experience or appropriate experience to prepare for working with a diverse population of students from over eighty countries, some coming from very difficult realities.
- Demonstrated expertise and strong understanding of Indigenous knowledge systems, including cultural practices, histories, and community dynamics, with a commitment to fostering respectful collaboration and inclusion.
- Qualifications and experience to serve as a leader in one of the College’s creative, action or service activities, which are integral to Pearson College’s educational model and approach to experiential education.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to collaborate and build partnerships and relationships.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills, an ability to differentiate and prioritize tasks appropriately and work towards critical deadlines.
