**Casual Security Guard**:
Seaspan is hiring 3 casual security guards for our North Vancouver Shipyard. You will be doing foot patrol of buildings on campus and shipyard, scanning points, writing reports, ensure safety to company assets and employees while following the policies and procedures related to security.

In this role, you will be required to have a flexible schedule to work days/evenings and nights. You will work a minimum four (4) consecutive hours to a maximum eight (8) consecutive hours in any day and will be scheduled anytime based on operational requirements. This includes weekends and statutory holidays.

**Note: Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site based at 2 Pemberton Ave, North Vancouver, B.C.**

**What you'll do**
- Controls the access of personnel, suppliers, customers and other visitors on site ensuring that visitors are properly signed in and out of the premises.
- Undertakes regular security patrols of the site ensuring that any security issues are dealt with in a timely manner.
- Provides access to stores, tool crib and secured areas to shipyard personnel when required.
- Responsible for video CCTV monitoring.
- Responsible for fire system monitoring for all buildings.
- Responsible for monitoring parking lots, ticketing and general parking issues.
- Assists the ERT.
- Deals with management of the yard evacuation list.
- Responsible for phone communications after hours for Vancouver Shipyards.
- Shifts may occur anytime 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
- Performs additional duties as assigned

**What you’ll bring**
- You must be able to work on an as needed or when needed basis (hours may vary depending on operational needs) in a variety of shifts including early mornings and weekends as we operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
- Completion of Grade 12 education or equivalent.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.
- Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Advanced computer skills.
- Ability to work with a mínimal supervision and exercise sound judgement.
- Physically fit and able to walk long distances as needed.
- Ability to learn and implement safety processes and procedures.
- 3-5 years of security industry experience preferably in a shipyard or marine environment is an asset.

Licenses/ Certification:

- Basic Security License (required)
- Valid Driver’s License (required)
- Security Workers License. (required)
- Completion of Occupational First Aid Level 2 (required)
- Advanced Security License (preferred)
