Welding Technician

**Overview**
The Welding Technician is responsible for completing maintenance and repairs to various welding equipment, machinery, and tools.
**Roles & Responsibilities**
- Complete repairs and maintenance on Welding Machinery
- Interpret blueprints and schematics to determine work procedures.
- Dismantle machines using tools necessary.
- Update inventory count as items are used for tasks and repairs.
- Assist in machinery installation/commissioning as needed.
- Adhere to assembly and installation instructions set forth in vendor manuals.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on various machinery, tools, and equipment.
- Fabricate new machine parts if original parts are missing or damaged.
- Identify and correct problems found in machines, equipment, or processes in order to facilitate production.
- Repair machinery components as needed.
- Complete and update assigned work orders daily.
- Update asset data regularly.
- Diagnostics and repairs on motors, pumps, valves, controls, PLC’s, and metal fabrication equipment as needed.
- Work on a wide range of projects.
- Perform all duties in accordance with Silent-Aire Limited Partnership safety program standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations, and Code.
- Other duties as required.
**Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities**
- Certification and training to work on Lincoln and machinery is an asset.
- Certification and training to work on Hypertherm plasma tables is an asset.
- Experience in moving, assembling, disassembling, troubleshooting, and repairing various types of welding machinery, and equipment.
- Ability to detect, isolate, and identify irregularities and malfunctions in welding machinery and equipment.
- Demonstrated aptitude in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, schematics, drawings, manuals, and specifications.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with quality standards.
- Accurate and highly analytical.
- Electrical experience is an asset.
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
- Mechanically inclined and willing to tackle a large variety of maintenance tasks.
**Working Conditions**
- Travel between local locations may be required.
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs.
- Commercial/Industrial environment.
- Manual dexterity required to use necessary tools.
- Exercise caution, as the environment presents many naturally occurring hazards.
- Always adhere to safety policies (wear protective equipment).
- Long periods of standing.
- Overtime as required.
**Salary**: $38.00-$40.00 per hour
