**This posting is for 1 permanent full-time position**

In response to the Strathcona County Social Framework, you would assist participants, including youth, adults and seniors, to explore everyday social challenges with a focus on empowering people to find solutions that work for them, through outreach and office meetings.

This position will develop, implement and evaluate capacity building approaches including psycho-educational, skill-building sessions, workshops and practice sessions with a focus on prevention and early intervention. You would also be involved in identifying and developing solutions to reduce barriers to service delivery within the County and with partnering social serving organizations.

**Responsibilities**
- Provide comprehensive front-line service delivery using a strength-based, action-oriented approach, assess needs, strengths, risks, and complete safety plans; adhere to program principles, practice standards and guidelines; develop, deliver and evaluate skill building, psycho-educational and practice sessions
- Lead participants through action-oriented solution processes and interventions, support individuals experiencing distress, promote capacity building and independence, enable informed choice, and promote social inclusion
- Support a coordinated, flexible and one-stop philosophy; invest in relationships with key community partner to enhance service delivery; identify service barriers and solutions for change to achieve seamless service delivery across social serving organizations Provide leadership in project and committee work and support volunteers and practicum students

**Skills and Abilities**
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with a teamwork orientation
- Strong facilitation, verbal and written communication skills with an openness to other's ideas
- Initiative, adaptability and accountability

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in social science or a related field with three years of relevant experience or a diploma and five years experience, with a preference for those fields with regulated practice
- Minimum of two years of experience working with people in distress and overwhelming situations using a strength-based, solution-oriented approach Minimum of two years of experience with project and committee work and developing and delivering skill-building, psycho-educational sessions

**Conditions of Employment**
- Submission of satisfactory Criminal Record Check, with Vulnerable Sector Check and Child Intervention Record Check
- Must have a reliable vehicle and ability to get to various locations within Strathcona County and surrounding area Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's licence and submission of a 5-year driver's abstract with less than 7 demeritsEquivalencies of education and experience may be considered.
