Milton, Canada Derry Heights Animal Hospital Full time

Has previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting
- Has experience with small animal handling (but willing to train the right individual)
- Familiar with AVImark or any reception software (or ability to learn very quickly)
- Maintains a positive and professional manner with clients
- Must be able to lift at least 50lbs safely unassisted
- Has obtained a high school diploma or equivalent or higher
- Must be over 18 years of age due to X-ray machine on site
- Strong verbal and and written skills
- Up to date tetanus shot is highly recommended for your own safety but not required

**Job description**:

- Assisting the veterinarian and technicians with various tasks and treatments (eg. examinations, vaccines, blood draws, nail trims, surgeries, euthanasias)
- Scheduling appointments and calling for reminders and follow-ups or lab results.
- On-job learning of pet nutrition, veterinary treatments, and prevention medicine and motivation to seek out and use available resources to improve your knowledge.
- Clean and disinfect cages and all work areas in hospital, up to strict hospital standards.
- Preparing vaccine certificates, adding charges to files appropriately, cashing clients out using POS system for card payments.
- Attaching diagnostics results, records, and registrations to patient files
- Putting away supplier orders, maintaining inventory, and adding to orders.

Part-time hours: 15-30 per week

**Salary**: $15.50-$16.00 per hour

All staff required to wear masks in clinic, practice distancing, wash hands & use sanitizer frequently, sanitize high touch points frequently during shift, All staff required to monitor & report health changes as per health Canada & OVMA guidelines

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Milton, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Veterinary Assistant: 1 year (preferred)
- Front desk: 1 year (preferred)
- Customer service: 1 year (preferred)
