**The Opportunity**
This is a truly exciting time to be at TVO We are looking for a Campaign Communications Specialist with a flair for philanthropic storytelling and the writing chops to translate complex strategic narratives into clear messages. Whether you are helping craft organizational messages or writing directly to donors, your strategic smarts and exceptional writing skills will help cultivate new donors and sponsors while ensuring that current TVO fans, be them employees or supporters, continue to champion our work.
**How you will make an impact**
- Support the Director, Corporate Communications to develop communications strategies and tactics as required with a specific lens on TVO as a philanthropic organization, including but not limited to crafting issue management narratives, key messages, press releases and other corporate communications, as needed.
- Develop and execute communications strategies and tactics to support solicitation, recognition and stewardship activities and those activities that indirectly support new donor acquisition.
- Contribute to the development of fundraising concepts and messaging for TVO channels.
- Write philanthropic copy and communications across multiple channels.
- Collect and catalogue viewer impact stories.
- Interview viewers, donors and others to illustrate the impact of TVO.
- Create and edit all philanthropy content on TVO websites.
- Write funding proposals.
- Develop compelling stories and case studies that highlight the impact of the organization's philanthropic efforts and work in partnership with Marketing and other departments to integrate these stories into existing TVO messaging.
- Ensure all communications align with the organization's brand voice and messaging.
- Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of communication strategies and campaigns.
- Provide regular reports on communication activities and outcomes to the Philanthropy department and senior leadership.
- Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives to enhance overall organizational communication.
- Other duties as required.
**What you will bring to TVO**
- University degree or college diploma, preferably in the field of Journalism, English, Communications, Fundraising, Public Relations, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate communications or related roles, specifically where the primary responsibilities included writing.
- Minimum of three years of experience writing in support of fundraising and/or campaigns with proven results, including writing direct mail.
- Experience working in a not-for-profit environment
- Excellent verbal, listening, and written communication skills, including editorial, copy-editing, and proof-reading skills.
- Ability to work with mínimal guidance in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously and deliver quality work under deadline pressure and changing priorities at times.
- Ability to think strategically and creatively.
- Interviewing techniques to enable creative writing and storytelling.
