**Overview**

**Key Function**:Responsible for assisting in various tasks in the shop such as and ensuring a high level of safety and cleanliness is always maintained. Duties include operating basic hand tools and assisting machinists and millwrights. Regular and various housekeeping and material handling are also components of this position.

**Key Responsibilities and Duties**:

- Participate and follow in required health & safety policies, activities, and documentation such as Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHAs), Safe Work Procedures (SWPs) and Focus Observations Cards (FOCs), Toolbox’s, WHMIS, etc.;
- Participate/ complete vehicles and equipment are inspections;
- Travel within Edmonton and area for pick-ups and deliveries;
- Perform various inventories and organization of shop tools, materials, and equipment
- Assist in shipping and receiving by sorting and preparing, boxing/ unpacking, build boxes and crates and cut protective foam for shipping;
- Assist in the employee coverall inventory, sorting & organization
- Maintain high degree of housekeeping, keeping the shop clean and organized;
- Handle Materials - within the shop and yard as required
- Vehicle cleaning and washing, interior and exterior detailing
- Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Operate forklift, as required;
- Various other tasks as required.

**Qualifications**:

- Education/Certifications/Credentials/Professional Registration_
- High School Diploma
- Safety Tickets (CSTS-2020, WHMIS, First Aid, Forklift Training, Overhead Crane Training)

**Experience**:

- 1-2 years in a similar role
- **Knowledge/Skills**_
- Basic reading and writing skills
- Knowledge and respect of shop safety
- Able to perform physically demanding work
- Ability to communicate orally
- Ability to work in all weather environments
- Display flexibility in adapting to ever-changing conditions or demands;
- Physically able to drive/sit for over 2 hours per day, complete light-medium duties 2-3 hours per day and complete heavy duties and extreme pushing and pulling for up to 2 hour per day;
- Knowledge of safe usage of basic hand tools, power tools, precision tools, forklift, pallet jack, overhead crane, rigging equipment and cleaning tools, solvents and pressure washer.
- Must be punctual and possess a strong work ethic

The successful applicant must be able to provide a clear, valid Police Information Check and Clean Drug and Alcohol test.
