**To be considered, applicants must possess the following minimum qualifications**:

- Minimum Grade 10 education or equivalent as determined by the Corporation,
- Valid Class “DZ” Driver’s License and good driving history,
- Excellent physical condition, able to do heavy lifting and work in all types of weather conditions,
- Experience operating trucks of some nature would be an asset,
- Must be able to work with limited supervision and be self-motivated.
- Ability to work with others in a team environment.

**Duties**:
1. Simultaneously collects Solid Waste and operates waste collection vehicles

a)Collects Solid Waste from individual properties throughout the City:

- Manually lifts Solid Waste into the waste collection vehicle,
- Operates attached hydraulic lift for waste collection,
- Adheres to the City of Woodstock’s safe operating policies, procedures and wears all necessary PPE including but not limited to CSA approved reflective safety wear (Class 2 Level)

b) Drives a single or two-person waste collection vehicle:

- Follows a preset route, collecting Solid Waste at every property.
- Observes Highway Traffic Act and municipal by-law regulations,
- Transports and empties truck as directed to either the recycling to the transfer station or Garbage to the Oxford County Landfill and any other facility as directed.

2. Performs other related duties such as, but not inclusive to:

- Performs all daily inspections as regulated by the MTO and internal City of Woodstock policies and procedures, such as but not limited to pre use inspections.
- Maintain fuel levels every working day before end of shift
- Maintains the appearance of the assigned vehicle by washing inside and outside of trucks
- Completes a daily timecard detailing hours worked, equipment used and mileage on the truck, and operators driving log
- Responsible for reporting any damages or repairs required for assigned equipment and completion of any associated documents.
- Reports any contravention of any of the City of Woodstock’s policies, procedures, and bylaws
- Performs all duties and responsibilities associated with Winter Operations including but not limited to the operation of winter maintenance equipment.

3. Maintains good relations with the public as comments are received on route.

4. Works with mínimal supervision.

5. Performs other duties as assigned from time to time.

Rate of pay is Level 3 - $29.57 per hour as per Schedule “A” of the Collective Agreement. Hours of work will be assigned and may include evening and Saturday shifts.
