The Field Service Manager
- Mill Relines is responsible for the execution of reline service for Metso Outotec Mining customers.
Individual is responsible to coordinate activities of the reline services team related to replacement of wears components on Grinding mills for Metso Outotec LCS contracts and specific Customer Reline requests. The reline team activities will be in Canada.
The Reline Manager
- Canada is the Metso Outotec representative at Mining site where his team will be performing mill lining replacement. Individual will be responsible for the team performance and will ensure that Customers objective/expectations are met in a safe work environment.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role, you will be leading the Canadian mill reline services team.
Develop the reline expertise (methods, tools, resources and training) for the reline services and transfer this expertise to the different Market Areas (MA).
Develop, standardize and continuously improve reline guidelines ensuring regional alignment and adherence.
Develop high HSE standards applicable to the global mill reline workers and to MA reline workers.
Travel with team to the different reline shutdown locations in Canada to execute, support and enhance the performance of the local Metso reline team.
Manage resources and competencies to ensure that the Metso and customer business targets are obtained.
Work closely with LCS contract execution managers to support the needs of the LCS contracts.
Monitor competition's performance thru benchmarking team performance (services, pricing, solutions, tools).
Technical Support to the Professional Services Team in the preparation of accurate and timely estimates and proposals for reline service.
Coach and train the Canadian reline teams. Follow up to ensure they work according to Metso Outotec reline service specifications.
Evaluate customer needs, evaluate technical solutions, and coordinate technical details with the Canadian reline teams.
Attend all site visits and participate in the selection of subcontractor crews and pre-shutdown meetings.
Participate in the development of the mill reline schedules (Gantt charts)
Work with Global RE experts to perfrom mill reline simulations using Metso reline software.
Work in cooperation with RE experts to implement shutdown opmtimization methods and tools (incl SMED)
Participate in the preparation of mill reline report with Canadian contract management.
Assist FSE/LCS/PS Teams in the promotion and business development of mill relining services.
High level technical, product and sales support (when support needed by Sales).
Work in liaison with the various technical business lines within the Metso Outotec organization.

POSITION SPECIFICATION

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Technical Degree preferable with mechanical or mining experience
Minimum 10-15 years experience in mill relining work.
Team leadership skills essential
Liner handler driving skill is an asset
Specific experience in shutdown planning and optimization
Proposal and contract management or equivalent experience within Grinding organization is preferred (reline companies).
Grinding Field Service experience is an asset.
Valid driver’s license
Valid passport
WORKING CONDITIONS
Must be capable to organize and prioritize tasks while working in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work in a variety of environments which may include exposure to extreme heat, humidity, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, loud noise, and all-weather conditions.
Climbing of and working on, stairs, ladders, and scaffolding, occasionally at extreme heights, is required.
The employee must able to perform physical work and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus and ability to read engineering drawings, meters, and documentation.
Ability to hear audible warning horns.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must have the ability to take a reline from the initial proposal phase through execution of the reline with a minimum of supervision and in a timely manner.
