**General Surgeon Locum**

**(Temporary with potential to transition into full-time)**

**Schedule and Compensation**:
Weekly (or weekend) locum coverage of on-call General Surgery activities from Monday 7am - Monday 7am, including ER and in-patient consults, and on-call ORs and endoscopy. Option for a scheduled, nurse-assisted, minor procedure days exists (skin lesions, toenails, cysts etc.), as well as elective endoscopy days.

Remuneration consists of on-call daily stipend, supplemented with fee-for-service billings.

Accommodations are provided.

Vehicle rental (or mileage and gas for personal vehicle use) reimbursement offered.

Groves Memorial utilizes an EMR (Patient Keeper in combination with Meditech). The hospital has a robust Family Medicine and Hospitalist program for in-patient care. There is on-call Internal Medicine, Anaesthesia and Obs/Gyne supports as well. On site imaging include x-ray, Ultrasound, and 24-hr access to CT scan. MRI and Interventional Radiology is available through neighbouring hospitals in Guelph and Kitchener-Waterloo (easy access).

Nestled between the communities of Elora and Fergus is the new 152,000 sq ft. Groves Memorial Community Hospital that backs on to the Elora Cataract Trailway and offers a modern, bright, healing environment. Our brand-new hospital is a 44-bed acute care facility (with the ability to surge to 50 beds) has two state-of-the-art operating rooms, three L&D rooms (approx. 500 deliveries/year), CT scanner and 24-7 emergency department.
