The successful incumbent will provide patient/family-centered care in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment. You will be responsible for collaborating and assisting the inpatient Medical Surgical Care team with length of stay goals for the department; assisting in all duties related to the collection of blood specimens and ECG's in a timely manner; all duties associated with specimen collection including clerical, packaging and transportation arrangements; monitoring inventory and ensuring adequate stock for day to day operation; maintaining the PPID equipment.
**Qualifications**
Halton Healthcare Services is seeking individuals who are competent in their chosen profession; patient/customer focused; team players; effective communicators; caring and respectful and are fiscally responsible.
- Minimum of one year relevant experience as a healthcare provider in an acute hospital setting
- Certification as a Laboratory Assistant.
- Knowledge of laboratory computer systems.
- Medical Terminology required.
- Demonstrated experience with specimen processing
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families and the healthcare team.
- Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Physically able to do the job.
- Satisfactory employment and attendance record.
**Salary**: $31.409 to $36.205 per hour
