**EIPS is recruiting two full-time Kindergarten/Grade 1 Quest Program Educational Assistants at Pine Street Elementary. This position may require personal care.**

Pine Street Elementary serves approximately 370 students in kindergarten to Grade 6, with 21 teaching staff and 23 support staff. The school is located in Sherwood Park, AB.

Pine Street Elementary strives to provide a safe and caring school community built upon meaningful relationships. The school is committed to providing quality learning opportunities where students achieve academic excellence as self-directed, lifelong learners and develop into responsible global citizens. Pine Street Elementary is also a designated Play And Learn at School (PALS) pre-kindergarten site within the Division.

Quest is a smaller group setting consisting of students who are 5-7 years old who are experiencing severe delays in communication and regulation. Educational Assistants (EAs) will work in the Quest program as part of a multidisciplinary team. EAs will support the students in participating in the classroom activities along with supporting the implementation of Individual Program Plans for each student. EAs may be responsible for providing personal care for students depending on their particular needs.

**Duties will include**:

- Supporting instructional, regulation and social needs of students
- Creating and maintaining professional and respectful relationships with a multidisciplinary team
- Assisting students with skills in the areas of communication and language development
- Being responsive to the individual regulation and behaviour needs of the students
- Lifts, transfers, and personal care of students may be required

**Education/Experience**:

- training or experience working with students with disabilities
- behaviour management training
- courses related to working with students with special needs
- experience and/or training with assistive technology for communication and learning
- excellent interpersonal skills
- the ability to work with students under the direct supervision of the classroom teacher
- the ability to provide personal care for students
- Emergency First Aid and CPR
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training
- Educational Assistant Certificate or comparable education
