Description
**Education/Experience**:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- At least one (1) year of experience in post-secondary admissions, with an understanding of the graduate student market is required.
**Certifications/Licenses**:
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License required.
- Valid Canadian Passport required.
**K/S/A**
- Experience advising international students regarding study permits.
- Student management database experience preferred.
- A strong alignment with the mission and values of Adler University.
- Strong computer skills with standard computer programs such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Excellent follow-up, communication, and public speaking skills.
- Extremely organized and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong cross-cultural interpersonal skills.
- Keen attention to accuracy and detail.

**Responsibilities**:
- Advise students regarding career or vocational matters including autobiographies and résumé preparation, admissions interview skills, and potential career exploration after graduation.
- Represents Adler University at on-campus and online events, as well as off-campus recruiting events.
- Coordinate and conduct on-campus admissions events, give presentations, and conduct Campus tours.
- Coordinates counselling skills workshops and participates in student orientation
- Answer questions about the University’s programs, admissions requirements, policies and procedures, tuition and finances, housing and relocation information.
- Consult with faculty and other departments on various issues/concerns regarding programs, student experiences, and admissions.
- Conduct course registration advising for newly admitted students such as course and program selection, timetables, and scheduling.
- Execute written and verbal correspondence to applicants and admissions inquiries and other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions.
**Work Schedule**:
Primarily Monday through Friday. Some evening and weekend hours may be required, as well as local and North American travel. Availability to work evenings and weekends as required.
**Travel Requirements**: Ability to travel to off-campus events as needed. These events require the ability to physically transport materials, set-up admissions display, and stand for extended periods of time.
**Work Environment**:
The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs’ functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling, and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
