Construction Estimator/project Coordinator

This is a full-time-on-site role for a Senior Estimator/Project Coordinator currently located in Bolton, ON but moving to Alliston, Ontario.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for excavation and site servicing projects.
- Analyze drawings, specifications and other documents for precise pricing
- Communicate with customers to clarify project scope and timelines
- Utilize estimating software and Microsoft Excel for detailed pricing
- Maintain and develop estimating systems and databases.
- Attend estimating meetings and participate in tender closings
- Conduct site visits for necessary information and project meetings
- Negotiate costs with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitiveness
- Assist with shop drawing, project planning eg. scheduling and budgeting
- Monitor job progress, cost control, and prepare progress reports.
- Ensure compliance with contractor documents and applicable regulations
- Identify and manage change orders, client approvals, and invoicing.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures. Perform any other duties that may be assigned.
- knowledge of excavation and site servicing projects
- Experience negotiating favorable pricing from vendors and subcontractors
- Proficiency in Bluebeam/Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
- Familiarity with construction law, contracts, and Ontario Health & Safety regulations
- Ability to read and interpret contract documents, drawings, and specifications
- Strong analytical skills with attention to cost calculation details
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Effective problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills
- Must have own vehicle and Valid Driver's License and ability to travel to job sites as required
- Post-Secondary education in Civil Engineering, or a related field are considered an asset.
- 4-5 years of experience in construction estimating and/or project coordination
- Wages negotiable according to experience
