Reporting to the General Manager, Dining Room Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the dining services within the residence, ensuring residents receive high-quality, timely, and courteous service in a clean and welcoming environment. This role is responsible for supervising dining staff, managing schedules, enforcing food service standards, and coordinating with the kitchen team to maintain smooth meal service. The Manager also interacts directly with residents to address concerns, accommodate dietary needs, and enhance the overall dining experience, while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- ** Dining Operations Management
- Oversee daily dining room operations to ensure efficient, high-quality service.
- Monitor meal service times and ensure resident satisfaction.
- Coordinate with the culinary team to ensure timely food delivery and menu execution.
- Plan, organize, direct and supervise the activities of the Food Service department to ensure the provision of high-quality food service.
- Assist in the planning of regular, therapeutic and alternate menus based on Canada’s Food Guide to Healthy Eating.
- Supervise meal service to ensure appropriate portion control, plate presentation and resident acceptance.
- Participate in budget preparation.

**2. Resident Relations**
- Greet and interact with residents regularly to build rapport and respond to feedback.
- Address and resolve resident complaints or concerns related to dining services.
- Assist with interviewing new residents regarding dietary restrictions, allergies and food preferences recording pertinent information to resident’s chart; communicate and have record of this information readily available to all Food Service employees.
- Coordinate with dietary staff to accommodate special dietary needs or requests.
- Maintain accurate records pertaining to each resident’s nutritional care and attendance at meals.

**3. Staff Supervision and Training**
- Hire, train, schedule and supervise dining room staff including servers and hosts.
- Establish and monitor workflow, evaluate performance and production making necessary changes to maintain quality service.
- Assist staff in trying on and placing orders that comply with the uniform program; ensure adhere to the uniform program.
- Conduct ongoing staff development, performance reviews and disciplinary actions if necessary.
- Foster a team-oriented and respectful working environment.

**4. Resident Relations**
- Greet and interact with residents regularly to build rapport and respond to feedback.
- Address and resolve resident complaints or concerns related to dining services.
- Assist with interviewing new residents regarding dietary restrictions, allergies and food preferences recording pertinent information to resident’s chart; communicate and have record of this information readily available to all Food Service employees.

**5. Risk Management and General Safety**
- Monitor the entrance and report any unusual activity.
- Respond calmly and effectively to emergency situations.
- Partner with community team to ensure community is in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety requirements and promotion of risk management programs and/or policies; adherence to safety rules and regulations.
- Practice safety procedures at all times including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), fire safety procedures including extinguishers, Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) and lockout tagout procedures.
- Report all accidents and incidents immediately.
- Report all unsafe and hazardous conditions and/or equipment immediately.
- Comply with all infection control techniques, placement of biohazard containers and removal techniques, procedures and policies.
- Participate in fire safety and mock disaster procedures.

**6. Other**
- Works in a safe manner and ensures department operations are carried out in a safe manner in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, associated regulations, Brighton Retirement Living’s policies, procedures, and other associated legislation.
- Other related duties, as assigned.

**Education**
- Secondary school diploma or equivalent.
- Degree or diploma in hospitality management, culinary arts or related field.

**License, Registration, Training and Clearances**
- Police Record Check (per RHA), including Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC).
- Valid and unrestricted Class “G” Driver’s License.
- Immunization(s) and Tuberc
