Detailer/project Manager

We are searching for a Detailer/Project Manager to join our dynamic team at our Fort Saskatchewan location. Reporting to the Branch Manager, the role of the Detailer/Project Manager provides a career that offers more than just detailing. Be involved in the overall job from estimating (bid packages), detailing, project managing and contractual issues.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Develop conduct consistent with Harris Rebar's vision and values.
- Independently detail and coordinate moderately complex small projects.
- Continue developing skills with RebarCAD (i.e., Building library routines for reuse in future projects, develop an ability to detail in paper space/model space in RebarCAD)
- Review contract documents/drawings and coordinate detailing efforts to ensure that we supply products and services in the most cost-effective and efficient manner.
- Verify drawings, dates, specifications, addenda, and other contractual information from the routing sheet or directly from the business system.
- Oversee efforts to ensure that Harris Rebar fulfills contractual obligations and coordinates project requirements with the contractor's representatives and the installer, engineer, /and or architect using Harris Rebar's contract guidelines.
- Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to appropriate staff, workers, and customers.
- Represent the company in project meetings as needed.
- Work with the detailing manager to help control contracts' financial aspects while maintaining a good relationship with customers.
- Formulate reports concerning such areas as work progress, costs, and scheduling.
- Provide total contract management of each project assigned, including coordinating the detailing, scheduling, delivery, and costs of products and services utilizing the company business system, industry standards, and other company policies.
- Identify and develop information required to inform the customer of any changes to the contract.
- Work with little supervision to address changes with the customer, produce change-order documents and enter into the business system.
- Perform other duties as required by management.

**Requirements**:

- Vocational certificate in CAD design/drafting issued from an accredited school or college or equivalent combination of training and work experience
- Effective skills in motivation, communication, personnel evaluation, and customer service
- Possess critical thinking skills and have the ability to use applicable tools
- Able to manage time effectively and prioritize responsibilities
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Ability to work as a team member on large projects with an aptitude for problem-solving
- Working knowledge of industry reference material (i.e., CRSI and ACI)
- At least four years' experience as a rebar detailer with Harris Rebar's detailing system (RebarCAD) or other CAD based detailing system

- Using hands to operate objects, tools, computers, and other electronic equipment
- Walking, sitting, standing, bending

**Special Demands**
- Overtime hours may be required
- Protective equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats, etc. must be worn when on the worksite
- Occasional travel/job site visits will be required
