Ottawa, Canada MCA Dental Full time

We are looking for a Dental Hygienist to join our team of passionate oral health professionals.
As a Registered Dental Hygienist, duties include conducting initial patient screenings, preventive dental care and being an oral health educator and advocate. You will work closely with the Dentist to identify and treatment plan according to individual patients needs.

**Location**: Hampton Park Dental Centre

**Schedule**: Fridays from 8am to 1pm (biweekly)

**OR**:
**Location**: Baseline Family Dental Care

**Schedule**: Fridays 8am-5pm

FULL TIME HOURS MAY ALSO BE AVAILABLE

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Adhere to and uphold the highest standards of infection control practices and guidelines, including while processing instruments and treatment rooms
- Medical health history screening and updates
- Conduct baseline and routine assessments (including full mouth charting, probing, oral cancer screening)
- Radiographs (as prescribed by the Dentist) or dental impressions as required
- Identify conditions and oral disease such as: gingivitis, caries or periodontitis
- Dental Hygiene treatment planning including patient specific preventive dental care (scaling, prophy, fluoride etc. as required)
- Educate patients by providing oral hygiene instruction, plaque control instructions and postoperative instructions as required
- Maintain accurate documentation/charting
- Collaborate with the team to monitor supplies
- Identify gaps in clinical schedule and assist with scheduling, such as: booking preventive recall appointments, following up with outstanding treatment plans
- Collaborate with colleagues during down-time in schedule (Dental Hygienists, Dental Assistants Dentists and Administration)
- Attend continuing education events from time to time and as required

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Diploma in Dental Hygiene
- Registered/Licensed Dental Hygienist in good standing with the CDHO
- In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and requirements
- Outstanding communication skills and attention to detail
- A friendly personality who loves to work collaboratively with a team
