Upper Unionville Golf Club is a Doug Carrick designed eighteen-hole championship public golf course. It was opened in 1991 as The Mandarin Golf and Country Club and is now proud to be part of The Copper Creek Golf Group. The club played host to the Canadian Tours 1996 and 1997 C.P.G.A. Championship, as well as the 2002 Greater Toronto Open.
Position to be filled: 2nd Assistant
Upper Unionville is looking for a highly motivated individual who will work closely with the management team to provide our clients with the best possible golf experience each day. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Working closely with the Superintendent and the Assistant Superintendent on a daily basis in all aspects of golf course maintenance
- Taking charge of a weekend crew
- Assisting in staff training
- Assisting in the daily planning of golf course work schedules
- Assisting in the operation, maintenance and repairs of the irrigation system
**Qualifications**:
- Must have completed or be enrolled in a recognized Turf Management Course
- Must have a minimum two years’ experience on a golf course
- Possess or be capable of obtaining a valid Ontario Pesticide License
- Possess or be capable of achieving IPM certification
- Have experience with a wide range of golf course maintenance equipment
- Have experience with maintenance and operation of an irrigation system
- CPR/First Aid an asset
- Chainsaw certification an asset
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License
- Must be familiar with all aspects of the game of golf and have a keen eye for detail
Pay: $21.00-$24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 44 per week
