Optometric Assistant/receptionist

**Overview**

**Responsibilities**
- Greet and assist patients upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
- Manage front desk operations, including scheduling appointments and handling patient inquiries.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR) using systems such as IFile.
- Assist in conducting preliminary eye exams and tests as directed by the optometrist.
- Educate patients about eyewear options and assist with optical sales.
- Process patient payments and handle insurance verification when necessary.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the office and examination areas.
- Stay updated on medical terminology and optical products to provide informed assistance to patients.

**Qualifications**
- Previous experience in a retail sales environment or medical office is preferred.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems is a plus, particularly with IFile.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to optometry is beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on patient care and satisfaction.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks.
- Experience working with pediatric patients is an advantage but not required.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 30 per week
