Our program aims to guide children using a multi-faceted approach that promotes using hands-on and engaging learning experiences for children ages infant to school-age.

We are looking for a Designate Registered Early Childhood Educator who is a passionate self-starter, energetic, and detail oriented to join our amazing team

Qualified applicants:

- MUST have a diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education
- MUST be a registered member of the Ontario College of ECEs and be in good standing
- MUST have a valid First Aid/CPR Level C certificate
- MUST have a Vulnerable Sector Screening or be willing to obtain a new one
- MUST have previous experience as a designate RECE in a license setting

**Scheduled Hours**

Split Shift Monday to Friday: 630am-930am & 230pm-6:00pm

PA days/Snow Days/March Break - Full 9 hour shifts will be required between 645am-545pm

**Job Summary**:
The Designate Early Childhood Educator collaborates closely with all other members of the program team to provide nurturing care and education to young children in a group setting, under the supervision of the Centre Supervisor and Director; in accordance with the goals and curriculum plans of the centre and the philosophy and policies of the agency and in compliance with the Child Care and Early Years Act of Ontario

**Principle Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Arrives 10 minutes prior to shift start time, dress professionally and ready to work by scheduled times.
- Responsible for the constant supervision, safety and well-being of the children
- Responsible for the training, supervision of, and provides professional guidance to all RECEs and EAs working within the program. Ensures that quality work is done by team members who are a variety of required documentation as per ministry requirements
- Ensures that Daily Written Record is complete with all parental requests/directions, absences, illnesses, requests, reminders, issues and pertinent conversations by all staff in the room. Creates files for new admissions, emergency cards and other administrative duties
- Reports all non-compliances to the Director immediately
- Ensure that all daily and weekly sanitation is completed and shared by all classroom staff in an equal and fair manner and that all staff are signing off on each duty that they complete.
- Recognizes and responds to the needs of each child by using developmentally appropriate teaching and child behaviour management techniques
- Responsible for overseeing the planning, preparing and the implementation of stimulating, age-appropriate activities that encourage children’s creativity and learning and promote each child’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical development
- Responsible for ensuring that program plans are posted along with documentation for the classroom daily
- Participates fully and consistently as a conscientious team member in caring for the children and in the overall operation of the program and centre; maintains regular and open communication with program team members and all classroom team members
- Establishes and maintains regular communication with parents and caregivers. Uses sensitivity and maintains privacy when discussing concerning behaviours, progress etc with caregivers. Always provides a positive comment for each child during pick up. Ensures that classroom staff are providing weekly blogs that are accurate and up to date and include all children in the classroom.
