**About the Job**

As the Data Labeling Specialist, you will help build datasets to support our machine learning research program. Our research requires that we capture images of physical objects under a variety of controlled circumstances. Therefore, this position combines some artistry with computer skills. You will take ownership of data gathering and labelling, which includes assemble and photograph the objects, and use the images to build datasets for use in research - the position is a mix of computer and workbench work. In addition to strong computer programming skills, this position is well suited for someone with hands-on creative skills, such as crafts, painting, art etc.

**Responsibilities**
- Support our research team by building physical model, including providing advice on creative ways to achieve requirements
- Sourcing materials for datasets, through online order or from stores
- Photographing objects with attention to details, such as position, focus and lighting
- Loading and annotating data using computer tools
- Pair programming and advice / discussion / sounding board with other team members

**Qualifications**
- Strong computer skills - office suite, web skills - required
- Experience with a programming language will be considered an asset
- Familiarity with research methods
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to work independently but also as part of a team
- Experience or interest in computer science or data science strongly preferred

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 20 per week

**Salary**: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
