**JOB SUMMARY**

Reporting to the Clerk of Scales in the Jocks Room, the Silks Room Attendant is responsible for the daily laundry plus the care and race day set up of owners’ silks at Woodbine.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Daily washing, drying and folding of used linens, uniforms, saddle cloths and number bibs
- Washing specialized jockey laundry
- Ensuring adequate supply of laundry chemicals
- Washing owners’ silks after every race
- Prepare and arrange owners silks for next race day from inventory
- Returning clean silks to the inventory
- Additional duties within jockeys room as requested

**JOB SPECIFICATIONS**

**Knowledge**
- Basic writing and good communication
- Attention to detail required

**Skills**
- Able to work under time constraints
- Able to lift heavy, wet laundry

**Education & Experience**
- Some high school (high school or work experience)

Work Conditions
- Work is on race days which includes weekends and holidays, afternoons and evenings work

Job is full-time seasonal
