**Summary of Responsibilities**:
Reporting to the Director of Engineering responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Overseeing the current renovations and Capital projects for the entire Hotel within the timeline established by working with outside consultants and designers.
- Assisting in the development of the annually Capital budgets.
- Providing leadership, support and direction to the Maintenance Department, which includes being responsible for the training, motivation and guidance as well as hiring/terminating and carrying out performance evaluations.
- Assigning and managing outside contractor as required.
- Liaising with other Department Managers, ensuring prompt resolution and swift communications when a problem arises.
- Coordinating the preventative maintenance program and RPM program.
- Establish an energy management program suitable for the facility.
- Maintaining the Maintenance budget, monitoring expenditures and preparing reports requested by the Area General Manager.
- Purchasing maintenance supplies, material and equipment and ensuring adequate inventory is on hand.
- Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety, Swimming Pool, Fire, Building code regulations and other government regulations.
- Soliciting quotes from contractors and preparing a quote analysis prior to receiving the services, supplies or equipment.
- Establishing and maintaining an equipment inspection schedule.
- Ensuring all requests for maintenance are completed in a timely manner.
- Developing strategies and action plans to achieve set goals and objectives for improving the Department’s efficiency, productivity, safety and cost savings.
- Reviewing all ongoing service contracts to ensure high level of performance and competitive pricing.
- Responding to all Emergency situations.
- Adhering to Marriott’s Policies and Procedures. **Job Requirements**:
- Must have 5-7 years in a large facility, preferably in a major Hotel setting - 3 years experience in a Supervisory/Managerial capacity.
- Must be able to organize and prioritize multiple tasks. Effective problem solving abilities, ability to process information. Sound analytical and strong decision-making skills.
- Requires a firm understanding of engineering technology, principals and all hotel tasks - example boilers, laundry, pool, HVAC, electrical distribution, mechanicals and construction.
- Must be able to work under pressure, changing conditions and priorities.
- Superior communication and written skills.
- Must have strong leadership skills and high level of initiative.
- Must be able to work variable shifts, **including weekends and holidays.**
- Must be skilled in reading blue print acquired through post secondary education or through work-related experience.
- Familiarity with building codes, fire codes, health and safety legislation etc.
- Skilled in the use of computers and software programs such as excel and MS office
- Flexibility and ability to work extended hours, and weekend shifts and holiday shifts as scheduled and working in a variety of weather conditions.
- Must have a “Passion for Service”.
**Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to)**:
- Constant standing and walking throughout shift
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50lbs
- Frequent pushing, pulling, lifting and kneeling.
- Frequent ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps.
- Ability to operate Towmotor Lift and Hydraulic Lift
