**Early Childhood Educational Assistant (ECEA)**

VTT is hiring an ECEA for the 2024/25 school year. This position is a part-time position from 9:00AM to 12:00PM, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Key Responsibilities & Qualifications:

- Experience working in a school setting and enjoy engaging with children of all ages.
- Can work with students with learning needs in an inclusive classroom setting as well as on an individual or small group basis
- If applicable, can maintain student records, follow IEP recommendations and/or a student support plan (SSP), and review strategies
- If applicable, can prepare additional resources and materials to support students with learning differences
- Experience working with classroom teachers to help them understand the needs of students
- Experience working with children in large groups
- Can help facilitate games and activities for students
- Has a positive attitude and works well with others
- Good communication skills
- Excellent conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather
- Ensure student safety and that students comply with school rules, ensuring appropriate behavior.
- Intervene in potentially unsafe play situations and facilitate conflict resolutions between students.
- Walking and standing for the duration of the shift.
- If applicable, required to circulate the school grounds, focus on your surroundings and remain alert at all times.
- Must have ECEA or ECE
- Formal education/training is an asset.
- Consent to a criminal (“CRC”) record/vulnerable sector check and provide a resulting valid CRC
- Maintain, at all times, the legal authorization to work in Canada

Hourly rate: $21 - $23 DOE
