**Job Description**:
**How You'll Make an Impact**:

- Supervise staff and overall operations of the food service department ensuring workflows are efficient
- Coordinate catering orders and maintain service and food safety standards
- Coordinate training, education and development for front line employees
- Participate in/perform scheduling and hiring of front line staff and assist in the determination of appropriate staffing levels to maintain level of service and efficiency according to the collective agreement and budgetary restrictions
- Work to ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained and make adjustments as required
- Perform inventory and reporting functions to Manager and District Manager as required; including but not limited to, reporting on inventory levels, waste and safety
- Execute on and maintain annual fiscal budgetary expectations
- Coordinate dietary activities with other departments within the facility in order to create efficiencies, reduce costs, maintaining budgetary requirements etc.
- Meet with the client as required to review dietary concerns, menu plans and other projects
- Assist manager in creation, evaluation and adjustments of cafeteria/retail and/or catering offerings
- Support roll out of new programs/ offerings
- Conduct satisfaction survey and field questions or concerns from customers/ clients
- Perform regular compliance audits and complete requirements related to safety initiatives
- Complete safety investigations and participate in injury management responsibilities and initiatives

**Qualifications**:
**What You'll Need to Succeed**:

- Post-secondary education
- 3+ years of experience in the healthcare food service field
- 1-3 years of supervisory/leadership experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Avid problem solver and out of the box thinker
- Highly developed people skills
- Excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building and leadership skills
- Demonstrated flexibility, positive attitude and “can do” approach to delivering results.
