Spotlight Theatre Camp Counselor & Choreographer

Help facilitate camp activities and lead dance classes/rehearsals with the goal of creating a fun, supportive environment where campers feel inspired to explore their creative interests and abilities

**Duties & Responsibilities**

Lead a camp group of 8-18 children, age 7-8, 9-11, or 12-15

Create simple, fun, and effective choreography for 9-11 short musical numbers

Teach choreography to campers as they work toward a final musical performance

Lead drama activities/games and help facilitate rehearsals

**Skills & Qualifications**

Experience working with youth in a recreational/educational setting (teaching experience an asset)

Extensive training in dance and performance

Experience choreographing beginner level musical theatre/jazz

Excellent communication and leadership skills

First Aid/CPR certification an asset

**Schedule & Compensation**

June 30-July 25, Monday-Friday from 8:45 am-3:45 pm

15 paid hours of preparation time prior to the start of camp to create choreography

2-3 paid hours of virtual training prior to the start of camp

$18-22 per hour, depending on experience

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 1 month

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week

Flexible language requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

Work Location: In person
