**Part-time term position**

**6 hours per day**

**Term effective September 2, 2025, to June 30, 2026**

**Job Summary**:
Under the supervision of the school administrator, the Safety and Security Monitor will monitor student traffic in and around the school building. By serving as a resource and liaison to a diverse student population, the Safety and Security Monitor promotes an inclusive, safe, and caring environment where students are supported to reach their fullest potential.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- To become acquainted with the student body and to monitor student traffic in and around the school building
- To serve as a resource person and liaison to at-risk population
- To serve as an adult presence in the school and become the first contact to students and buffer to school expectations and daily operations
- To assist in prevention and intervention strategies for potential crisis situations
- To report to teachers on supervision any special circumstances that need to be addressed

**Qualifications, Skills and Abilities**:

- Qualifications_
- Quality interpersonal skills with an excellent track record of working effectively with high school age students
- An excellent memory for student names and school schedules
- Upon hire, external applicants must supply a Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Search, and a cleared Child Abuse Registry Check, as conditions of employment.
- Skills and abilities_
- Ability to intervene in potential crisis situations to help de-escalate emotional levels of students
- Good communication skills to work with a large diverse population of students and staff
- Ability to think clearly and recognize and analyze situations and problems that need to be referred to school staff

Pay: $21.99-$27.37 per hour
