**SUMMARY OF DUTIES**:
The **Community& In-Home Support Worker (CIHSW) **provides support and companionship to people living with a developmental disability and who are eligible to receive passport funding. Supports provided are determined by the person living with a developmental disability and could range in activities such as accompanying a person to a community event or supporting a client with activities of daily living. Resolve Counselling is seeking casuals who are interested in providing In-Home supports to assist clients with activities of daily living and to provide companionship. Activities of daily living may include support with light house keeping or meal planning, preparation and/or cooking.
The CIHSW will provide compassionate care to clients and interact effectively and tactfully with any family members, friends, service providers and the public in which they may come into contact with while providing support services.
**MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**
- Secondary School education and some experience and/or knowledge of people living with a developmental disability.
- Driver’s license and vehicle would be an asset
- Successful completion of vulnerable sector CPIC is a requirement
- Must maintain confidentiality and discretion around client needs and personal information
**THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL DEMONSTRATE**:
- Good time management skills
- Compassionate listening
- Flexibility and be non-judgmental, and emotional maturity in order to establish rapport and trust with clients under sometimes difficult circumstances. A positive sense of humour is always an asset.
- Bilingualism (French-English) is considered an asset
