Maintenance/driver

**Scope of position**:
The Maintenance/Driver is responsible for the effective functioning, upkeep and physical appearance, furniture and equipment in the Home. The Maintenance/Driver will coordinate and/or liaise with external service providers (e.g.: snow removal, trade specialists) to ensure completion and quality of service. Also, responsible to drive residents to and from appointments.

**Additional Key Responsibilities**:

- Regularly maintaining equipment and furniture and by providing general upkeep to the physical site and its large systems;
- Ensures the outdoor facilities and lawn are maintained;
- Ensures resident suites are properly maintained and completes small repairs on resident suites;
- Sources and orders services/supplies focusing on obtaining the highest quality for the most reasonable price;
- Maintains the appearance and upkeep of the home by implementing regular painting and decorating plans and ensure all furniture and fixtures are operational and in good repair;
- Schedules and conducts regular preventative maintenance activities;
- Conducts regular fire and emergency preparedness drills;
- Drives residents to and from appointments and any other driving as needed by the home;
- Provides minor building, electrical, plumbing and equipment repair services to ensure the optimum functioning of the home and equipment - coordinates with external specialized service providers for support as required;
- Identifies and investigates physical deficiencies and equipment malfunctions and takes the appropriate corrective action;
- Receives and stores all non-kitchen related deliveries;
**Qualifications**

Education/Experience:

- Experience as a maintenance worker;
- Demonstrated skills in light carpentry, lawn care, plumbing, electrical work, painting and equipment maintenance.
- Valid Drivers Licence

**Salary**: From $17.50 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
