Janitorial tasks: sweeping, mopping, washing windows, cleaning and sanitizing washrooms, picking up litter, emptying garbage receptacles and ensuring general site cleanliness
- Under supervision of the Facilities Supervisor, assist in executing planned site maintenance, repairs and minor installations (including basic landscape, electrical, plumbing, painting, mechanical and general carpentry work).
- Under supervision of the Facilities Supervisor, perform basic landscaping and grounds keeping duties such as mowing the grass, basic garden maintenance, clearing snow, maintaining pathways and perimeters as required
- Maintaining and cleaning tools and equipment
- Assist with the completion of logs and check lists
- Other duties as assigned related to the operation of the Bentway site.
**Customer service/event work**
- Serve as a front-line customer service representative for visitors and other members of the public.
- Assist with set up and tear down of programs, events and activations
**Health and safety**
- Work with the team to ensure the site is safe and clear of hazards at all times
- Assist with recording concerns, accidents and incidents and escalate when appropriate
- Assist with or perform first aid and call emergency services when needed
- Attend health and safety training as required.
**Qualifications**
- Experience in janitorial maintenance, grounds keeping, garden maintenance, or customer service is considered an asset but not required
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays in varied weather conditions.
- Must be able to perform frequent standing, bending, twisting, crawling, kneeling, squatting, climbing, reaching and grasping
- Must be able to lift, push or pull up to 50lbs
- Willing to work safely and to follow all required protocols
- Good interpersonal skills including the ability to work in a team environment and communicate with our visitors.
- Standard First Aid is considered an asset
