**What is an Operations/Warehouse Supervisor at Muro North America Inc.?**

The role of the Warehouse/Operations Supervisor involves providing hands on supervision for all areas of the department. The incubent is responsible for department operations. They will ensure effective production planning, provide efficient picking and packaging strategies, as well as accurate and timely work completion. Duties include tracking of production performance and ensuring that productivity targets are met; to ensure product quality, integrity, and maintenance as per company guidelines.

**Leadership/Role**:

- Responsible for the scheduling, planning, execution and results of operations.
- Plan effectively to standards and KPIs.
- Schedule and chair monthly department meetings to interact with staff, provide coaching opportunities, discuss department operations, and inform on updates/changes.
- Attend monthly Operations meetings.
- Ensure that all company and client quality requirements are followed and expectations are met.
- Schedule personnel and acquire/redirect staff as required.
- Oversee the planning, scheduling, and completion of training within department
- Manage time/attendance and vacation planning for direct reports
- Ensure that employees are cross-trained and backup positions are in place for absence/vacation coverage.
- Ensure a high quality of performance in all aspects of daily operations and conduct annual performance reviews for direct reports.
- Administer pro-active performance management within department, including progressive discipline and positive reinforcement.
- Immediately and pro-actively deal with inappropriate conduct/performance and/or any unsafe behaviour.
- Ensure productivity goals and priorities are set, communicated to staff, and met. Work quickly and proactively to correct any concerns.
- Bring forward opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Ensure Health & Safety regulations are communicated and followed. Stop and correct unsafe or hazardous conditions, and report both to General Manager, and/or a Health & Safety Committee member.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices in your area of responsibility and hold the team accountable for maintaining these standards.
- Thoroughly investigate work-related injuries and incidents, complete accident/incident reports, make recommendations, and facilitate corrective and preventative measures.
- Create and maintain a positive and motivational environment where staff are aware of and strive for accuracy, quality and productivity.
- Ensure high quality of team performance by leading by example in all aspects of daily operation and production. Motivate and coach on required goals and behaviours.
- Act on observations regarding structural or property concerns (i.e. roof leaks, parking).
- Coordinate equipment maintenance and repairs, act on breakdown notification
- Understand production equipment operations and assist the Project team to troubleshoot solutions.
- Ensure daily and weekly maintenance and housekeeping duties are being performed and that logs are complete.
- Ensure preventative Maintenance schedules are developed for all equipment, preventative maintenance schedules are followed, and contractors are scheduled if necessary to complete preventative maintenance.
- In conjunction with Management, manage sprinkler testing and fire alarm policies.
- With Management, ensure secure access to the facilities.
- Daily safety walk and log, in conjunction with Health and Safety.
- All other duties as assigned.

**Education and Required Training**:

- Secondary school diploma.
- Millwright License/Electrical an asset.
- Welding and machinery an asset.
- Logistics or Warehouse/Distribution courses an asset.
- Forklift License.
- All applicable Occupational Safety and Health Regulations.

**Knowledge/Skills/Abilities**:

- Minimum 5 years maintenance experience in a production environment.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a warehouse environment.
- Minimum 2 years supervisory experience.
