The Infrastructure Summer Student will work under the daily supervision of the Infrastructure Project Lead and the Development Technologist to carry out a variety of public works operations and administrative duties necessary for maintaining the publicly owned infrastructure.

Core Responsibilities:

- Assist with data collection and entry;
- Assist with record keeping;
- Assist with field locates of existing infrastructure;
- Assist with the maintenance of the water distribution system infrastructure (hydrants, valves, curb stops etc.);
- Assist with the maintenance of the sanitary sewer collection system;
- Assist with the maintenance of the storm water management ponds and storm sewer collection system;
- Assist with the administration of receiving, processing, and closing of service connection permits;
- Other duties as assigned.
- Working towards a post-secondary diploma/degree or equivalent experience, with training or experience related to municipal infrastructure sector.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
- Ability to respond to the public in a respectful and tactful manner.
- Team-oriented; demonstrates a commitment to shared success and collaboration.
- Technological Skills.
- Safety Training - Health & Safety, WHMIS, First Aid & CPR, and traffic control would be an asset.

**Preferred**:

- Preference will be given to students enrolled in an Engineering or Environmental Studies or related discipline.
- Hold and maintain a valid unrestricted class “G” Ontario Driver’s License with a satisfactory drivers abstract
