**ROLE OVERVIEW**

**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**

**Assist**
**in Partner Recruitment**
**Process**
- Work with the Business Development team to engage new partners
- Understand and utilize Salesforce to track program partners
- Work on partner retention and setting partners up for annual success
- Maintain Salesforce accounts as needed

**Engage Partners in the Plastic Reduction Program**:

- Assist partners with Plastic measurements as needed
- Plan and perform waste and procurement audits
- Lead development of a plastic reduction work plan
- Ensure accountability for partners by guiding them through plastic reduction
- Ensure continuous improvement is achieved by each partner
- Maintaining Partner records and administration as needed

**Support Plastic Pledge and Plastic Challenge Participants**
- Support Outreach for Individual Plastic Reduction program
- Support Communications in writing newsletter and finding social media content
- Work with corporate partners to engage their members with the Plastic Challenge

**Contributes to the overall success of**

**by**:

- Assisting with ongoing website improvement and maintenance to enhance user experience;
- Training and coordinating summer educators and volunteers, and other short term positions.
- Staying current with all Plastics initiatives activities and being able to speak to them
- Collaborate with other Ocean Wise initiatives and external partnerships as needed
- Adding to communications schedule as required
- Complete purchasing and expense reports as required
- Other duties as required

**QUALIFICATIONS**

**Education and Experience**
- 1-3 years’ experience in behaviour change / training, environmental stewardship, supply chain, procurement, business development, or an acceptable combination of education, training, and experience;
- University or College Degree in environmental science, community development or related field of study, or an acceptable combination of education, training, and experience;
- Has a valid Canadian driver’s licence;
- Knowledge of any of supply chain, waste management, food safety, food tech, circular economy an asset.

**Skills**
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team;
- Excellent computer skills and expertise in word processing, database management, and spreadsheet programs;
- Professional oral and written communication skills, including excellent public speaking;
- Able to multi-task, excellent time management and organizational skills;
- Familiarity with web based tracking programs;
- Flexibility and ability to learn new skills very quickly;
- Leadership skills with ability to coordinate, train and motivate volunteers;
- Commitment to conservation of aquatic life;
- Bilingualism (English and French) preferred.

**Working Conditions**:

- 37.5 hours/week;
- Flexible working hours and schedule possible;
- Some weekend and evening work required;
- Incumbent is expected to participate in waste and procurement potentially be exposed to associated risks including contact with various types of waste;
- The incumbent will work in a hybrid environment, from home and partner sites, and access to an office if employee is in the Vancouver area;
- Some travel may be required;
- Job requires some heavy lifting. Employee should be able to safely lift 35 kg assisted.
