**The opportunity**
An exciting opportunity exists in our Leach department within the Metals division for a Temporary Operator (6 months) located in Fort Saskatchewan. The purpose of this position is to monitor, sample, troubleshoot, operate and maintain control of varied process equipment and inputs within established parameters in a 24-hour operational plant.
**In this role, you will be accountable for**:
- Troubleshooting process, circuit or equipment upset conditions or issues
- Operating automated control systems
- Monitoring and inspecting plant equipment
- Measuring temperature flow and pressure
- Analyzing and recording instrument readings and equipment malfunction
- Troubleshooting, performing corrective action or minor repairs as required
- Performing routine equipment maintenance
- Maintaining daily log of operation, maintenance and safety activities
**Skills and attributes for success**:
- High School Diploma is a requirement
- 3-5 years of equivalent experience in a heavy industrial environment
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License
- Fourth Class Power Engineering Certificate issued by ABSA is an asset
- Experience operating forklift, front-end loader and skid steer loaders
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment.
