The **Territory Manager/Outside Sales** is responsible for the development of new and existing accounts, implementation of tactical plans, sales performance, gross margins, market share growth, profitability and value-added cost savings programs for our in-town territory.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Scheduling appointments and visiting existing customers to review product needs and determining other opportunities.
- Providing product quotes as required.
- Organizing and attending joint sales calls with Vendors.
- Opening new accounts.
- Continuously updating customers on product changes and modifications.
- Providing solutions to customers’ problems.
- Attending Trade Shows and Conferences (if applicable).
- Product introduction of new releases.
- Liaison between customers and the company for up-to-date status of service, pricing and new product release launches.
- Preparing reports for marketing and sales and keeping expense accounts.
- Performing maintenance and updating of customers’ accounts including contact names for future sales.
- Keeping up to date on new products, services, procedures and tools by attending training and departmental meetings
- Read, understand, and follow Vallen’s health, safety, and environment policies and all applicable OH&S legislation/regulations.
- Actively participate in Vallen’s health and safety management system, including training, audits, assessments, safety meetings, and inspections.
- Identify, control, and report workplace hazards including following WHMIS/TDG requirements and reporting near misses.
- Report workplace injuries immediately and participate in any return-to-work programs or requirements.
- Be fit for duty and physically capable of performing all required tasks.

**Required Qualifications**:

- High School Diploma required.
- Post-Secondary courses in Sales and/or Marketing an asset.
- Product knowledge or industry experience an asset.
- The ability to meet deadlines and prioritize workload in a very fast paced environment.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.

We are looking for sales professionals with customer service experience within an industrial or safety distribution environment. A proven background in building solid relationships, an ability to interact with people at all levels and a pre-disposition to teamwork and excellent customer service is required.

You will have solid product knowledge, strong computer skills and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
