Research Scientist - Immunology
**DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION**
Thryv Therapeutics is seeking a highly motivated and collaborative Research Scientist to work in a multi-disciplinary team to bring new precision medicine treatments to patients with Long QT Syndrome, Atrial Fibrillation, and Heart Failure. The Research Scientist - Immunology is responsible for conducting immunological experiments and design preclinical studies to support the company's product pipeline and translation to the clinic. This role reports to the Director, Research and contributes to the overall research efforts of the company.
This position is a temporary vacancy for a period to be determined, but not expected to exceed 6 months.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Design and conduct laboratory experiments using primary immune cells to determine effects of selected compounds on various immune functions.
- Perform differentiation, polarization, stimulation, cytokine release, exhaustion and cell-based assays in the relevant immune cell populations to model disease conditions.
- Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Clinical Operations, Clinical Development, and Regulatory Affairs, to ensure successful translation of preclinical data into clinical development.
- Ensure that all research activities are conducted in compliance with all relevant regulatory guidelines and requirements.
- Attend meetings and seminars to stay up to date with relevant scientific literature and research advances.
- Provide support to other members of the research team, as needed.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
**REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE**:
- Recent Ph.D., or Master’s degree with relevant experience
**TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS**:
- A strong understanding of research methodologies and scientific concepts related to immunological assays including cell culture of primary cells, stimulation and differentiation assays and analysis through flow cytometry and functional readouts.
- Ability to identify relevant preclinical models to recapitulate disease conditions to test novel therapeutic approaches.
- Ability to make effective experimental design, data collection and analysing data is crucial.
- Possess relevant experience to identify and troubleshoot research problems and determine Go/No Go decisions promptly and provide alternative paths forward.
- Strong ability to collaborate, share ideas and contribute to group discussion is important.
- Meticulous attention to details, especially when collecting data, performing experiments, and analyzing results.
- Capacity to engage in critical and analytical thinking, challenge assumptions and evaluate the validity of research findings and methodologies based on current competitive and clinical landscapes.
- Rapidly adapt to changes in project, scope, timelines by being receptive and agile about learning new techniques or approaches.

**TRAVEL**
Travel is not required, but presence in the laboratory located on boulevard Cartier in Laval, Quebec, is required.

Thérapeutiques Thryv est à la recherche d'un chercheur scientifique très motivé et collaboratif pour travailler dans une équipe multidisciplinaire afin d'apporter de nouveaux traitements de médecine de précision aux patients atteints du syndrome du QT long, de la fibrillation auriculaire et de l'insuffisance cardiaque. Le chercheur scientifique en immunologie est responsable de la réalisation d'expériences immunologiques et de la conception d'études précliniques pour soutenir le pipeline de produits de l'entreprise et la translation vers la clinique. Ce rôle relève du Directeur de recherche et contribue aux efforts de recherche globaux de l'entreprise.
Ce poste est un poste vacant temporaire pour une période à déterminer, mais qui ne devrait pas dépasser 6 mois.
