Shipper/receiver Afternoon Shift 3-11pm

**Description and Environment**

Reporting to the materials manager, the incumbent performs a variety of shipping and receiving functions for the company. Maintaining documentation with a high degree of accuracy and _**confidentiality**_, working closely with external and internal customers as well as vendors and upholding all company policies and procedures. All hourly employees must be able to do the following during their employment with URSA
- Meet production output standards and quality as set by the company.
- Show up on time for every scheduled shift.
- Demonstrate an active commitment to health and safety in all aspects of the job.

**Physical & Environmental**

1) Combination of walking, standing, lifting, bending, reaching and sitting for entire shift.

2) Use of computer, keyboard and printer on a regular basis

3) Use of PLEX MRP/PRP, Shipping, Customer requirements screens and other software on a regular basis.

4) Use of scanner and other logistics tools.

5) Moderate to high stress environment, just-in-time manufacturing with rapidly changing customer demands

6) Plant/manufacturing environment; concrete floors, metal parts, assembly machinery, welders, presses, forklifts, cranes, variable temperatures, some outside/dock work (all seasons), moderate to high noise level.

7) Wear prescribed safety gear/PPE at all times including CSA-approved safety footwear, ear protection and safety glasses in the plant.

**Responsibilities**:
Labeling
- Review current date shipments to confirm no change requirements from Customers
- Review following date shipment requirements
- Preparing labels for each shipment including Master Labels
- Scan labels required for loads
- Bring labels to the appropriate work station
- When required assist in re-labeling shipments

Shipping
- Create packing slips for shipments
- Fill out all require paper work for shipments including but not limited to: FedEx, UPS, courier Plus, Sheppard, McClays, Innovative, etc.
- Print Bill of Lading and Customs (If Required)
- When required unload and load trailers using forklift
- Ship required shipment after trailer is loaded
- Give Bill of Lading, Packing Slip and Customs (If Required) to Driver
- Use ASN Checker through GM Power Supply
- Complete daily cycle counts
- Read customer EDI
- Merge shippers
- Split shippers
- Adjust customer requirements

Receiving
- When required unload trailer using forklift
- Check packing slip to items removed from trailer/delivered
- Make note of discrepancies on packing slip
- Receive items into PLEX
- Provide accounting with Packing Slip
- Notify department of the shipment/package arriving
- Receiving Bin/Totes (CLIPS) (GM)

Other Duties
- Contact customer with any issues/shortages for shipments
- Customs paperwork
- Purchase order entry and receiving for MRO (maintenance, repair and operating supplies)
- Maintain the office in good order at all times including housekeeping
- Work closely with Planners to ensure customer product is available
- Identify areas of improvement and implement

**Qualifications**:

- Shipping/ receiving experience
- Forklift experience
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent attendance record
- Good knowledge of company’s parts, processes and customer
- Must be able to abide by all URSA policies (especially attendance and health and safety)
- Must be able to read and write and communicate clearly in English
- Must be able to perform and use basic mathematical and statistical calculations
- Must be able to pass a basic aptitude test; includes tool identification; mathematics filing out a time card
- Ability to learn PLEX ERP System
- Must be tactful, professional, calm and diplomatic handling other employees and Supervisors

Pay: $20.00-$26.60 per hour
