Gts Broker

This is an interview position.

GENERAL SUMMARY
To perform duties relevant to the processing of shipments in accordance with Canadian Customs and other government departments regulations and legislation. To provide accurate information and assistance to customers requiring international shipment information.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Educational Requirements

Post Secondary: Community College Diploma/Equivalent

Professional accreditation/certification: Canadian Customs Specialist or CSCB qualified

Related Experience Requirements

Minimum number of years required for entry to this job
- One year experience required (FedEx preferred) with basic knowledge of Canadian Customs Regulations related to International Operations

Other specific mandatory experience requirements
- Incumbents must maintain their CCS designation when in this position. Must achieve annual re-currency points.
- Must have the ability to lift 70 lbs and maneuver any package weighing up to 150 lbs with the appropriate equipment if position is located at the following ports: YQG, YOW, YEG, YWG, YYC, YMX
- In the province of Quebec, must be bilingual (English and French).

Technical Skill Requirements

Solid knowledge of the following:

- Good mathematical and computer aptitude required
- Knowledge of customs rules and regulations

Computer literacy and proficiency:

- Knowledge of clearance systems preferred
- Basic Level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Minimum of 25 wpm on data entry alpha numeric testing preferred

CONNAISSANCES, COMPÉTENCES ET APTITUDES REQUISES

Formation

Postsecondaire : Diplôme de niveau collégial ou l’équivalent.

Certificats et titres professionnels :Être spécialiste certifié des douanes ou agréé par la SCCD.

Nombre d’années minimum pour occuper ce poste
- Un (1) an d’expérience (idéalement chez FedEx) et connaissance de base des règlements de douane canadiens.

Autres exigences précises en matière d’expérience obligatoire.
- Les personnes en poste doivent maintenir leur désignation. Doit accumuler un minimum annuel d’unités de formation continue.
- Doit avoir la capacité de soulever 70 lb et manœuvrer n’importe quel colis pesant jusqu’à 150 lb avec l’équipement approprié si le poste est situé dans l’un des ports suivants: YQG, YOW, YEG, YWG, YYC, YMX

Compétences techniques

Solide connaissance de ce qui suit:

- Être habile en informatique et en mathématiques
- Connaissance des règlements douaniers

Connaissances en informatique:
Logiciels requis
- Excel—de base
- Doit pouvoir taper 25 mots/minute lors d’un test de saisie de données.
- Connaissance des systèmes de dédouanement souhaitable
- Minimum de 25 mots/ minute sur les tests alphanumériques de saisie de données préférés
