**About the Role**:
Are you a strategic financial leader who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys building systems that drive performance and accountability? MEMS is seeking a **Controller** to lead our corporate financial management functions with precision, insight, and integrity.

This is a high-impact role that blends hands-on financial control with strategic leadership. You’ll work closely with the VP of Finance and Legal, senior management, and cross-functional teams to ensure sound financial governance, accurate reporting, and effective planning that supports our long-term growth.

Please note this position is eligible to be based out of our Sherwood Park, Calgary, Saskatoon, or Guelph office.

**What You’ll Do**:
**Financial Leadership & Strategy**
- Partner with the VP of Finance and Legal to shape and execute financial strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Deliver insightful financial analysis to support strategic and operational decisions.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial modeling.

**Financial Reporting & Compliance**
- Oversee timely and accurate financial reporting (monthly, quarterly, annual).
- Ensure compliance with ASPE, internal policies, and audit standards.
- Manage general ledger activities and coordinate external audits.

**Internal Controls & Governance**
- Design and maintain robust internal controls and financial policies.
- Uphold governance standards and risk management practices.

**Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis**
- Lead organization-wide budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Provide variance analysis and identify cost efficiencies and financial risks.
- Develop clear financial dashboards and performance reports.

**Operational & Systems Leadership**
- Oversee financial systems (ERP, reporting tools) and ensure data integrity.
- Drive automation and process improvements across finance operations.
- Collaborate with IT and operations on system integration and optimization.

**Team Leadership & Development**
- Lead and mentor a high-performing finance team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, learning, and professional growth.

**Qualifications**:

- University degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance.
- CPA designation (CA, CMA, or equivalent) required.
- 7-10 years of progressive finance experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record in financial reporting, planning, and team development.
- Experience with ERP systems and financial process optimization.
