QUALIFICATIONS: - Graduate of an accredited Laboratory Assistant Program - Current registration as Medical Laboratory Assistant with the Ontario Society of Medical Technologists or the Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science - Recent related clinical experience as a medical laboratory assistant in a clinical laboratory environment - Demonstrated advanced skills in phlebotomy techniques for patients/clients of all ages - Applies knowledge, skills, judgment and competencies required for safe, independent and inter-disciplinary practice - Applies Niagara Health values and professional practice standards to patient/client care and service - Integrates reflection, critical thinking, education and relevant practical experience in problem solving - Working knowledge of computers, Laboratory Information Systems and other related Hospital systems - Consistent and regular attendance required - Proficiency in both official languages (English and French) will be considered an asset - In accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 and the Ontario Human Rights Code, Niagara Health will provide accommodations through the recruitment process to applicants with disabilities.
