Job Summary
The Academy of Translational Medicine (ATM) at the University of British Columbia (UBC) is established by the Faculty of Medicine. The ATM is a nucleus for translational and regulatory science research, education and training, and innovation. The ATM is a strategic imperative for the Faculty of Medicine and has a mandate to collaborate with other units in the Faculty of Medicine, University and beyond to accelerate the translational medicine continuum. The ATM will drive impactful medical and policy research to create new knowledge to improve health outcomes and benefit society. The ATM will be central to the development of new academic and training programs, creating a cutting-edge ecosystem in which top educators and researchers train the next generation of health innovators. The ATM has supported the recruitment and establishment of over 36 new faculty.
Working under direction of the ATM Director and its Operations Manager, the Research Program Coordinator is responsible for developing and supporting the ATM’s Platform for Regulatory Science, Innovation, and Equitable Health Systems (PRISm). They will lead coordination and oversight of activities to support the implementation of initiatives for the ATM and PRISm (jointly referred to as the ATM hereafter). The Coordinator will also lead communication initiatives, support partner engagement, and create proposals, reports and other written materials for the operation and implementation of the ATM and its platforms. The Coordinator will participate in in the strategic planning and program development of the ATM in alignment with its research portfolio. This individual will provide operational and procedural support to advance the planning, coordination, and delivery of the ATM’s program. The incumbent will work with various partners within BC, nationally and internationally, and the broader research community to develop the ATM’s research program.
The incumbent will typically work a standard day; however, flexibility is required as some responsibilities, such as communications, may require an irregular schedule, including evenings or weekends.
