**Position overview**:
The Automotive Apprentice will work under the guidance of experienced technicians to learn and perform vehicle repairs and maintenance. This role provides an excellent opportunity for hands-on training and professional growth in a supportive and dynamic environment in hopes of becoming a license technician.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Assist experienced technicians in diagnosing and repairing various automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems.
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks such as oil changes and tire rotations.
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to help troubleshoot and identify vehicle issues.
- Learn to maintain detailed records of all work performed and parts used.
- Support the team in ensuring all work is completed according to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding repair status and any additional work needed.
- Ensure shop, tool room, benches, etc. are cleaned at the end of each workday.

**Requirements**:

- Valid driver’s license is required. (ability to drive standard and automatic is an asset).
- Registered with College of trades is required.
- Strong interest in the automotive industry and desire to build a career as an automotive technician.
- Basic knowledge of automotive systems and components is an asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work both independently and as a part of a team.
