Come "live Ocean" Ocean Group was awarded the HR - Best Practices Award by the Chambre de commerce et d’industrie de Québec at the prestigious Fidéides 2021 evening. **BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION** Reporting to the HSE Executive Director, the incumbent will actively support the development and deployment of environmental protection activities for the entire Ocean Group. He will promote compliance with environmental and occupational health and safety laws and regulations. He will work actively with members of the HSE team and stakeholders at all levels of the organization of the operating unit associated with his mandate. He will also be called upon to support the implementation of environmental improvement projects based on the needs and his expertise. **RESPONSIBILITIES** **HSE support to operations** - Regularly visit and audit all work sites and construction sites in order to identify and participate in the elimination of potential environmental risks; - Interact with employees, supervisors and managers to ensure an understanding of the reality and priorities in the field, issues and solutions that may be applicable to operations; - Assist managers and employees in identifying potential sources of environmental risks and associated preventive solutions; - In collaboration with the Coordinator - Environment, act as an environmental resource person for the entire Ocean Group and as a specialist for the HSE team; - If necessary, replace the Coordinator - Environment; - Document the audit process and ensure appropriate and timely follow-up with site/work managers; - Validate compliance with HSE policies, procedures, rules and work instructions; - Accompany foremen in the investigation and analysis of events; - Validate the implementation of corrective measures (audits, accidents, expertise, etc.) according to the deadlines agreed upon with the managers; - Present relevant environmental performance indicators to employees and managers to ensure continuous and effective communication of our performance; - Accompany, as needed, the representatives of the various government departments and agencies in HSE during their site inspections and ensure a diligent and effective follow-up of any request from them. **HSE practice and performance improvement** - Demonstrate exemplary HSE behavior and a strong desire to improve HSE practices at Ocean Group; - Participate in the exchange of best practices and continuous improvement in HSE among the various operating units; - Encourage optimization of HSE resources; - Participate in the establishment of departmental priorities and budgets while ensuring compliance with associated deadlines; - Participate in the environmental legal monitoring; - Collaborate/assume responsibility for special environmental improvement projects. **HSE training** - Collaborate in the identification of environmental training needs; - Participate in the validation of training content; - Provide HSE training to employees as needed. **HSE administration** - Develop and write, in collaboration with the coordinators, HSE procedures and ensure compliance; - Participate in the development, implementation and maintenance of an HSE management system; - Participate in the identification of HSE budgetary and investment requirements; - Participate and support the activities of the Health, Safety and Environment Management System. **REQUIREMENTS** - University degree in a field relevant to the position; - Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the environmental field; - Valid driver's license (class 5); - Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel); - Bilingualism in French and English, oral and written (asset); - Influential leadership is essential; - Team player; - Customer focus; - Autonomy; - Good listener; - Analytical skills. **BENEFITS AND WORKING CONDITIONS** - Permanent job - 37,5 hours per week; - Paid vacations during the holiday season; - Full range of fringe benefits; - Free employee assistance program available to the whole family; - Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP); - Access to a bonus program; - Social club; - Great geographical environment, in the heart of the Old Port of Québec. - NB: Ocean Group subscribes to an Equality Access Program and invites women, visible minorities, First Nations and Inuit people and persons with disabiliti
